How to Clean Your Gas Chainsaw’s Air Filter
After 3 to 4 hours of cutting, you may notice your chainsaw slowing or stalling. That’s your air filter’s way of saying ‘clean me.’ It’s a quick fix:
1. Turn filter cover knob counterclockwise to remove.
2. Remove filter and wash it (regular detergent and water are fine).
3. Rinse filter and set out to dry.
4. Reinstall filter onto mounting post (make sure opening in air filter fits securely in air intake).
5. Put filter cover back on, insert tab on cover into slot on chainsaw housing. Turn knob clockwise to tighten.
