How to Store Your Mower
During mowing season, storage is easy. Remove debris, and then park it in a cool, dry spot away from children and pets. For winter lawnmower storage, there’s a little more to it:
1. Drain the fuel or add stabilizer. It’s not good to leave fuel in your mower for too long between uses.
2. Remove the blade and use a putty knife and wire brush to scrape around the undercarriage and clear all the grass, and mud out.
3. Lightly lubricate parts to prevent rust.
4. For gas mowers, remove the spark plug and add a cap of oil in the hole to keep the engine lubricated and prevent condensation.
5. Check the air filter for damage and replace if needed.
6. Finally, move your lawnmower to an outdoor storage unit or lawn mower storage shed.
