Top 4 Reasons Your Electric Chainsaw Won’t Start
Good news: With an electric chainsaw, the problems related to starting are limited. Check for one of these common issues:
1. Is the extension cord plugged in?
(Whoops) Check the power cord to ensure it’s connected to both the saw and the outlet. Use the cord lock feature, too. Also check to see if the extension cord is in good condition, and replace if necessary.
2. Did you press the throttle lockout?
Press and hold the lockout before squeezing throttle control.
3. The GFCI in the outlet might’ve tripped.
Inconvenient, but easy solve. Push that little button on the wall outlet to reset the GFCI.
4. Was the circuit breaker tripped?
Head over to your electrical panel and check, reset the breaker switch if necessary.
5. Is the unit damaged?
Refer to the ‘Service’ information in your chainsaw manual and contact the Customer Support Department at 1-866-206-2707.
