Top 6 Reasons Your Snow Thrower Won’t Start
It’s cold. You’re shin-deep in snow. And your patience is melting fast. Here’s a quick checklist to find out why your gas snow thrower isn’t starting.
1. Is there fuel in the tank?
(Oh yeah, that would help). Fill the snow thrower with fresh gas.
2. Is the engine key in the ignition?
Fully insert key into switch.
3. Did you prime the engine?
I have to prime it? (See Priming Instructions in the snow thrower manual)
4. Is choke in CHOKE position?
Whoops. Move choke to CHOKE position.
5. Is spark plug wire connected?
If not, connect it.
6. Is the spark plug faulty?
Clean and adjust, then check again. If it is fouled, replace.
After you fix the issue, just plug in and hit the starter button to check – no pulling necessary!
